Hello-

I'm working on a theatrical production on origin stories, using this LJ to collect accounts of various group's beliefs in the creation.

I was wondering--what is the Neo-Lucifenarian account of the creation? How does it differ from other creation stories?

Thanks---

There is no fixed belief in a creation or a creator in the Neo-Luciferian Church - only an acknowledgement of principles ("gods") which may (or may not) have been "an essence" of the world we now know ... A primeval darkness, a spark of light and their union ("Lucifer" - a name for the "magical agent") ...

So to some degree---the idea of lucifer as "light" or 'bringer of light" is in evidence?

So the idea is a union of the primeval gods(darkness) and lucifer(light) to create something new?

Thanks so much--you'll haveto excuse my ignorance on these things-

So the idea is a union of the primeval gods(darkness) and lucifer(light) to create something new?

The whole subject is complicated because it can be understood on many different levels (hence it is a Gnostic Path) ... The understanding grows as the aspirant contacts the magical current, but the understanding is a very personal experience and not easily explained.

One way to say it is to state there was a dark goddess who divided herself in two, and her other part and twin was Lucifer (hence Darkness/Light). Another way to say it is that the Lucifer Principle is both male/female (as the morningsstar, or Lucifer, is also Venus) - but there are various other ways to regard it.

Essentially this "creation" is what happens in all kinds of magical operations, but the method and/or process may vary from operation to operation.

In essence the whole idea of creation is quite compatible with the Big Bang theory, except that from a magical point of view these forces can be "contacted" just as someone can contact a person or a thinking being ... in that sense the magical viewpoint is different from the purely scientific, yet many of the theories of science has a validity in the magical viewpoints too.

One thing we're very observant about in the Neo-Luciferian Church is to avoid too much mumbo-jumbo and superstition which - unfortunately - often exists in magical environments and organisations.
